Richard Brian Curtis Skelton, 41 passed away with all of his loving family around him on

Thursday, May 27th after a courageous five year battle with metastic melonama.

Born in Lancaster, PA on October 19, 1979; Richard was the son of Glenda Lynne Masten and

Brian E. Cox; and the stepson of David J. "Pop" Masten all who loved him so much.

Richard was a 1999 graduate of Avon Grove Senior High School.  He enlisted in the U.S Army

from 1999 to 2003.  He was a member of the 82nd Airborne Division in Fort Bragg, NC.  During

his time he was deployed to Ghana, Africa where he specialized in Satellite Communications.

Richard was extremely proud to be a Soldier and we all thank him for his service.

In earlier years, Richard was a boxer. He boxed for the Kennett Sqaure Boxing Club, where as an amateur he was the only boxer to go 7-0.  In later years; he loved gaming; especially dungeons and dragons.  He enjoyed his Saturday night game nights with his friends; looked forward to it and never missed a night.

Most important, Richard loved family gatherings; whether it be holidays, cookouts or Sunday

Football; cheering on his precious Eagles.  He was so happy when they won the Super Bowl!

Richard was a kind and compassionate man.  He did not mind if you had completely different

views and actually enjoyed a lively discussion that made people think.  If you were a kind and

genuine person; Richard liked and respected you.  In his honor; we should all live with these

values.

In addition to his parents, Richard is survived by his Maternal Grandmother Lorraine Kay Skelton, his paternal step-grandmother; Annabelle "Tiz" Cox.  His sisters Leslianne Tucker, Elizabeth Pray and his brother-in-law Tim Pray.  The lights of his life; his nieces and nephews; John Patrick, Gavin, Grace, Kamryn, Jameson and Jackson.  He is survived by his Aunts, Uncles and cousins who adored him and will miss him.  Richard was pre-deceased by his Paternal Grandmother

Marion Cox, his Paternal Grandfather Curtis Cox and his Maternal Grandfather; his best buddy

and namesake Poppop Richard "Glen" Skelton.

The Family would like to thank the Doctors and Nurses at Fox Chase Cancer Center; who loved

and cared for Richard for the past five years; we are very grateful to you.
