Fadwa Madanat, daughter of Jaris Madanat and Helene Nasralla, was a beloved wife, mother,
grandmother, and great-grandmother. She passed away peacefully on August 9, 2025, at the
age of 83 at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. Born in Karak, Jordan, in 1942,
Fadwa devoted her life to her family and to the values of kindness, faith, and generosity. She
was a devoted member of St. Sharbel Catholic Church in Newtown Square.
She was predeceased by her loving husband, Ghaleb Madanat, in 2018, with whom she shared
60 years of marriage. Together, they built a home filled with love, faith, and hospitality.
Fadwa was the loving mother to eleven children: Maher, married to Samar Jamalieh; Monther,
married to Sereen Jamalieh; Morad, married to Rania Batarseh; Madhat, married to Lina
Hijazin; Sharif, married to Nagam K.; Maha, widow of Rasmi; Majeda, married to Issa Safadi;
Manal, married to Jamal; Hilda, married to Issa Hawatmeh; Maysa, married to Mufeed Batarseh;
and Salam, married to Speer.
Her legacy lives on through her 23 grandchildren—Anthony, Jason, Christopher, Helen,
Andrew, Alexander, Michael, Amanda, Rand, Amer, Renee, Jordan, Omar, Mera, Zaid, Laith,
Maria, Zain, Sara, Natalie, Nadeen, Mya, and Jonathan—and her great-grandchildren,
Giovanni, Gianna, Grace, James, and John.
She loved playing cards with all of her grandchildren, sharing laughs, and cherishing life’s
simple joys. Her mornings were never complete without her cup of coffee. Known for her gentle
spirit, she never spoke ill of anyone and prayed every night for everyone she knew, reciting her
own prayer by heart. No matter how delicious a home-cooked meal was, she always had a soft
spot for Chick-fil-A, and she never turned down the chance to enjoy it. Fadwa’s kindness, faith,
and compassion touched countless lives, and her memory will be cherished by all who were
blessed to know her.
A viewing will be held at Maclean-Chamberlain Funeral Home, 339 West Kings Highway,
